Spring Shining

The warmer it gets, the better life feels. If you're like me and are cold all the time (I'm always carrying an extra layer) then you know how slightly sad yet crucial it is to judge the weather and layer accordingly. So far, I've found cosy jumpers to be a good shout so I don't have to wear a jacket but I'm layered enough to be comfortable and neither too hot or cold.

Chill Breeze

*Shoutout and a major thanks to my beautiful friend Alicja for taking these pictures for me.

As the warmer weather hits London, I seem to be reaching for my Faux Leather Jacket more and more; although London is guilty for always keeping a chilly breeze handy, I have been layering underneath. I loved this outfit because I layered one of my favourite bodysuits which has this amazing lace detail at the neckline under one of my comfiest jumpers. My jumper comes down to a pretty regular length at the neckline, but as the bodysuit is a lace turtleneck it peeks out which I think is so flattering and a great way to bring in a little more detail to a simple outfit.

I also bought my first pair of vans a couple of weeks ago and have been wearing them non-stop trying to get them to loosen up a little and a little cosier, it's working slowly but surely!

Ruby

I know I don't wear colour often but I've recently been having a thing for red. This bodysuit is from Topshop and I got it towards the end of summer last year. It's perfect to dress up fora night out or down for brunch with the girls. For this look I styled it with a new jacket I got from Underated at the end of last year. This 20 pocket is so comfy and  I love that the pocket sized are actually functional as well as being a super cool design feature.

Silver Stars

One of my favourite ways to dress up a cosy outfit is by throwing a pair of heels on. I honestly love the way dressed down outfits look with a good pair of heels and sometimes that's enough of a statement. I eel like I've had this jumper forever which is almost true. I got this from Forever 21 about three years ago now and it's still in the same condition it was when I first got it and I still love it just as much as then as well. It just shows when you find a good item of clothing,  no mater the price, if you do take care of it and it's made well, it can have a very long life in your wardrobe.

Outfit details will be posted below as always.

A Piece of Me

A little while ago I shared these images with you guys which Marianne and I worked on together and I wanted to share the remaining images I had. The story behind the images were all based on a my relationship with my cultural heritage (South Asian) and how I relate to it for an upcoming exhibition Marianne will be holiday. These images are by far some of my favourite that any has ever taken of me and I hope you enjoy them as much I enjoyed being a part of this project with Marianne. Have a look at her website and Instagram for more amazing work.

Skin Tones

I don't usually wear anything other than black or white, however, I have been exploring nude tones more recently. None of the items worn are necessary new, except the shoes which I purchased over summer, but I never really tend to keep to one tone or shade that isn't black, white or sometimes grey so I thought it was worth the share.

I think wearing different shades of the same palette is a really modern and alternative way of wearing and executing a minimal wardrobe. This obviously doesn't have to be nude but can also be colours such as navy or pink, etc. It looks well put together as well as being comfortable and guaranteed to not clash your colours if they're all shades of the same colour. I find that in case of nude, it also ensures that you don't have the "naked" look down when someone sees you from afar, it's never a nice situation.

Paris Day 3

My camera died on my last day in the city, forcing me to have an amazing time instead of worrying about documenting enough, which we can all fall into the habit of, especially a photography lover like myself. This is also the reason I don't have many photos of my last day in Paris, although I wasn't in the city, my family and I spent out last in Disneyland, which was incredible. Since it was a super fun and casual day, I kept my outfit fitting. I kept it super casual and comfortable and it was a good job I did since the day was adventure packed and really heavy, being comfortable in what I was wearing made it that much easier.

Details below as always.

Paris Day 2

Our second day in the city consisted of visiting Chateau de Versailles; which is where all these images were taken. It was a really warm day so I wore a light and comfortable shirt from H&M, and as you can see, this shirt has great detailing at the top of the sleeve. I chose to pair it with some distressed denim from Topshop and my Mayfly Woven trainers from Nike as they were super comfortable to wear and managed to get me through the three days we were in Paris.

The last and final outfit post from my trip will be up in a few days time. Details as always are listed below.

Paris Day 1

During the summer my family and I travelled to Paris for 3 days. Our first day in Paris was quite full on as we arrived early in the morning and spent the day sight seeing. We went into the city to see the Eiffel Tower and after hundreds of pictures of the beautiful sight, went on a boat ride through Paris before going inside the Eiffel Tower and travelling all the way to the top (view from the top can be seen in the last photo) where we watched the sun setting for the evening.

As I knew I would be travelling in the early hours and would have a very packed day, I dressed comfy before leaving the house, making sure my outfit was also day time appropriate and not just travel appropriate. It wasp pretty warm at the time so I didn't have to layer up too much, and bought a light bomber with me to wear in the evening when it did get a bit cooler.

Outfit details and links provided below as usual, and there are more to comes from the trip soon!

Simple Things

A couple of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to work with Marianne Paul, an incredible photographer whom I have admired for her style of work for a while. I reached out to her and we organised a date to shoot together and here are some of my favourites from the shoot (there's more coming soon).

I had so much fun shooting with Marianne and although we've never worked together before, she made me feel so comfortable with her in front of the camera and I'm so pleased with the outcome.

Check out her website and her Instagram page for more of her work.
