Glow

Hey guys! So, Spring is full under way and I know a lot of you girls are going to looking for products to help you shine like the sun, so I’ve decided to give you guys a little run down of the products I like to use on my Dry/Combination skin to help keep me hydrated and glowing! Obviously in the sun you don’t need as much moisture as you do in the colder days but I tend to get dry really easily and jugs not a cute look when I leave my house glowing but have foundation dried up in patches on my face. Here are the products I use on a daily basis to help keep me soft and glowing...

Moisturiser/Suncream: Simple
Suncream is very important to using products that already have it mixed in is a good time saver and a way to make sure you don’t forget to put it on.

Facial Oil: Superdrug Vitamin E Facial Oil
This facil oil is an absolute favourite of mine. I actually got this last year to use while I found one I loved just so I could have extra hydration and ended up loving it so much I didn’t bother looking for another facial oil. It leaves my skin glowing and a little goes a long way! I use a couple of drops morning and night and press it into my skin after toning.

Liquid Highlight: Sleek Barekissed Illuminator
This product is so beautiful and you can build it up as you please! I use a little bit mixed in with my foundation on days where I want to looo extra dewy. It also comes in a couple of colours so you can play around and find what works best for you or you enjoy most.

Powder Highlight: Sleek - Solstice Palette
I’ve been using this palette for the last 2 years or so and I’m just as obsessed as I’ve ever been. I do try other highlighters here and there but as far as drugstore highlighters go, this is a firm favourite and nothing seems to ever outdo this one for me.

That’s pretty much the products I use on a daily for extra glow! Hope this is helpful to you guys and please do share any products you’re in love with so I can give them a go too!

Towel Series 2

Getting out of the shower and getting straight into comfy underwear and satin shorts is one of my favourite things to do. Calvin's will forever be one of my favourites that you can wear indoors or outdoors (you know what I mean).

Happy Sunday guys! This last week has been a really busy one for me with most days ending very late, hence the lack of posts. But I have been taking lots of pictures of you guys so you will be getting bonus posts during the week!

I've had a lovely Sunday with family and just relaxing and catching up on some sleep. I wanted to give you guys a sneak peak of an amazing shoot I did with one of my favourite photographers; Marianne (@marianneolaleye).

I have so much great photos to share with you guys but for now you'll get this one as it's my current "Sunday Mood".

Hope you're all having a wonderful week and have an amazing week ahead of you. x

Let's Hit Pause

I think it's really important to take a minute to hit pause and take care of yourself, especially during the week. I love taking a bubble bath during the work week, either in the morning or evening, depending on my work schedule. Here's a little guide on a very simple mid-week pamper mesh...

Ingredients:
Essential Oils of your choice; My fave at the minute
Bubble Bath/Bar: My fave from Lush
Bath Bomb: For added luxury, I love the range of bath bombs at Lush

Set the Tone:
Light some candles; one of my favourites
Pick up your favourite or current read/put on your favourite show or something new your watching: Netflix

And now all that's left is to get in and enjoy! I wash myself in the bath before I get out but you can do this with whichever products you're using or loving at the minute. But hopefully this little guide has given you a nudge to take a little bath and help yourself unwind and relax in the midst of a busy week. Feel free to come back and follow the little list whenever you need a pause.

Coffee is a great pick-me-up not just for when you're feeling rather sluggish and sleepy, but also for your skin. Here's a self-care day I did to give my whole self a big pick-me-up.

Like a Rose

You all know by now that bubble baths are one of my favourite “me-time” activities and I’m always sharing my baths with you guys, but there are a few things I do before and during to take extra care of myself. When I want to have an extra relaxing pamper routine, there are a few things I do to relax myself even more than just having a bath, so I've put a little list together for you guys to have a read and maybe you could incorporate them into your self-care routine as well.

Bubble Bath:

If I'm not using a bubble bar from Lush (usually Rose Jam Bubbleroon), then I'm using a super delicate Rose Bath Essence (own brand) from Boots. It's very gentle and has a gorgeous fragrance (obviously of roses) which I like to use if I'm adding more pampering products to my bath.

Rose Petals:

I use different flowers for my bath, usually the flowers I pick up on my Friday walk to the farmer's market in my area, but most of the time I do pick up roses so that's what I use for my baths the most. Flowers are a really simple way of making your self-care routine more indulgent. Just make sure you're picking up flowers which are organically grown and don't have pesticides and chemicals all over them, you don't want to be soaking in that!

Essential Oils:

I like adding Rose Essential Oil (currently using this one) in my bath just for extra Rose goodness (can you tell I'm obsessed yet?) but any essential oil you love will work great! And if you don't have any essential oils at hand then bath bombs are a a great way to get them into your tub with some extra added goodness. Of course my go to for most of my bath products are Lush, click here to browse their bath bomb range!

Face Mask:

Getting in the bath tub with a mask on and some relaxing music is literally one my favourite ways to unwind after my work week is up. Here is my favourite face mask, again, from Lush.

Candles:

Giving the bathroom a good clean and removing an clutter and lighting some scented candles is a great way to set the mood for bath time. Just make sure you're being safe while they're alight! Here is my favourite fragrance to burn.

Those of my tips for a relaxing bath time and unwinding session! If this isn't new information for you guys then I hope it's a good reminder to take some you time and look after yourself in the best ways possible. Everything starts with you so it's so important not to neglect your health and well-being.

Happy bathing my loves. x

Screenshop

Hey guys! Today I wanted to talk about an App which I've been loving recently. I know I don't usually do this kind of post on my blog but it's fashion related so why not? I first found out about Screenshop through Kim K, I'm not sure if she's a creator or just an affiliate but I watched her Instagram story explaining the app a few months back and decided to give it a go. I tested it out a couple of times and it works well so I was impressed and left it at that. But, I've been pretty obsessed for the last couple of nights and I'll explain to you guys why.

The concept of the app is to create a way for you to shop any item you see someone wearing online through a screenshot. So what you do is; say you're on Instagram and someone's wearing a great outfit that you love and would love to have but they haven't tagged the brands they're wearing or you want to look for similar items which maybe easier on your wallet. You screenshot the outfit and open it up in Screenshop, the app will find the items and similar items from the outfit so you can choose what you want and have a variety to pick from.

When open the app, you'll see this little "add image" icon in the corner; if you're shopping from a screenshot you took previously like I was, click on this and add the image for your shopping options, or if you have the app open when you take a screenshot, you'll get a notification right away that Screenshop has gathered the information you require and can take your pick of items.

These are some examples of options I gathered from Screenshopping a look worn by someone at Fashion Week to give you guys an idea. I've been so obsessed with this as it just makes the whole process so much easier. You don't have to go hunting for an item which may take you months to find, you can just do it through the app. It also means that you've got multiple options and can shop within your budget. This has been a little bit of a game changer for me as there are a few looks I've been using the app to find items from. I know for me, when I see someone in Vogue or at Fashion Week wearing a killer outfit, if something is not within my budget then I don't have the time to look very far for similar options that are to my taste. With this app you can literally find anything you want at the click of a button. It's so easy and helpful and thought it was worth sharing with you guys as I've been so obsessed.

Let me know if you give it a go and how you find it!

Self-Care Sunday: Roses Galore

1. You all know my favourite scent family from Lush by now so of course I went all out when all I needed after a super busy week at work was a good sack in the bath. I ran a bath with some Himalayan Bath Salt, Epson Salt, Rose Essence and Rose and other flower petals.

2. While bathing, I washed with the Lush Rose Jam Shower Gel and moisturised with the Ro's Argan Body Conditioner.

3. And of course I had to finish off with the Rose Jam Body Spray. I can safely say I've never smelt so good.

My Day In Pictures: Running Errands

1. After a busy week at work, the first thing I wanted to do was go to my local flower market and pick up some fresh flowers! The best thing about picking up fresh flowers is that you always have a fresh batch to bath in after they've been in your company for a while.

2. Earlier sunsets means when I am able to catch them, I can bask in how spectacular they are and of course, beautiful photos which I can look back at.

3. Another luxury i treated myself to were some crystals, I ordered some online which haven't arrived yet so when I found a gorgeous little stall right next to the flower stall, I had to pick some up. Here you can see two Rose Quartz crystals, a Clear Quartz and a Sandstone.

4. Of course I treated myself to a Rose bath with my roses which were getting a little old. More details of my bath to come in tomorrow's post.

5. A closer look at my nails which I got re-done as my first set of Gel nails had started peeling off. I am all sparkly and ready for the work Christmas Party tomorrow! Bring on the glam.

Sunday Thoughts

Wear the clothes you want. Experiment with your style. Be as outrageous and extravagant as you want. Wear all the colours that exist if that's what you want. Or if you want to wear only one colour for the rest of your life, do it. But that necklace and wear it with the top that you don't know if it goes 100%. Don't care what others think. Don't care what anyone thinks at all. All that matters is how you feel. As long as you're happy, that's all that counts.

My Week In Pictures

1. This week has been super exhausting. It's been very full on and mid week salt-baths to ache sore muscles and get you through the week are needed. These bath salts are great at getting the job done. And of course, bath petals are a must.

2. A squirrel came super close to me on one of my morning waiting for the train to work and obviously I had to stand as still as possible so I could see how close it would actually come. The little guy came pretty close before turning around and going up the steps. It was a nice start to the morning all the same.

3. As I write this, I'm planning my bubble bath for tonight and I picked up a couple of samples from Lush to try out while in the bath tonight. Rosy Cheeks I've tried before and love but BB Seaweed is a new one to me. It has rose in it so of course I was going to try it out. I'm thinking of doing a mix between the two and seeing how they help my skin.

4. While leaving the shops and waiting for our train my sister and I came across this gorgeous flower stand. Red roses are my favourite and I can never pass up the chance to take pictures of flowers because who doesn't want to go through their camera roll and see it full of flowers? It's the best way to live.

5. It's been a while since I've done a collage so I went through my camera roll and picked out a couple of images which I loved and stood out to me to experiment with. I also added a quote which I read recently which I fell in love with. Anything to remind a girl how powerful she is. x
