A Piece of Me

A little while ago I shared these images with you guys which Marianne and I worked on together and I wanted to share the remaining images I had. The story behind the images were all based on a my relationship with my cultural heritage (South Asian) and how I relate to it for an upcoming exhibition Marianne will be holiday. These images are by far some of my favourite that any has ever taken of me and I hope you enjoy them as much I enjoyed being a part of this project with Marianne. Have a look at her website and Instagram for more amazing work.

Skin Tones

I don't usually wear anything other than black or white, however, I have been exploring nude tones more recently. None of the items worn are necessary new, except the shoes which I purchased over summer, but I never really tend to keep to one tone or shade that isn't black, white or sometimes grey so I thought it was worth the share.

I think wearing different shades of the same palette is a really modern and alternative way of wearing and executing a minimal wardrobe. This obviously doesn't have to be nude but can also be colours such as navy or pink, etc. It looks well put together as well as being comfortable and guaranteed to not clash your colours if they're all shades of the same colour. I find that in case of nude, it also ensures that you don't have the "naked" look down when someone sees you from afar, it's never a nice situation.

Paris Day 3

My camera died on my last day in the city, forcing me to have an amazing time instead of worrying about documenting enough, which we can all fall into the habit of, especially a photography lover like myself. This is also the reason I don't have many photos of my last day in Paris, although I wasn't in the city, my family and I spent out last in Disneyland, which was incredible. Since it was a super fun and casual day, I kept my outfit fitting. I kept it super casual and comfortable and it was a good job I did since the day was adventure packed and really heavy, being comfortable in what I was wearing made it that much easier.

Paris Day 2

Our second day in the city consisted of visiting Chateau de Versailles; which is where all these images were taken. It was a really warm day so I wore a light and comfortable shirt from H&M, and as you can see, this shirt has great detailing at the top of the sleeve. I chose to pair it with some distressed denim from Topshop and my Mayfly Woven trainers from Nike as they were super comfortable to wear and managed to get me through the three days we were in Paris.

The last and final outfit post from my trip will be up in a few days time. Details as always are listed below.

Paris Day 1

During the summer my family and I travelled to Paris for 3 days. Our first day in Paris was quite full on as we arrived early in the morning and spent the day sight seeing. We went into the city to see the Eiffel Tower and after hundreds of pictures of the beautiful sight, went on a boat ride through Paris before going inside the Eiffel Tower and travelling all the way to the top (view from the top can be seen in the last photo) where we watched the sun setting for the evening.

As I knew I would be travelling in the early hours and would have a very packed day, I dressed comfy before leaving the house, making sure my outfit was also day time appropriate and not just travel appropriate. It wasp pretty warm at the time so I didn't have to layer up too much, and bought a light bomber with me to wear in the evening when it did get a bit cooler.

Outfit details and links provided below as usual, and there are more to comes from the trip soon!

Simple Things

A couple of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to work with Marianne Paul, an incredible photographer whom I have admired for her style of work for a while. I reached out to her and we organised a date to shoot together and here are some of my favourites from the shoot (there's more coming soon).

I had so much fun shooting with Marianne and although we've never worked together before, she made me feel so comfortable with her in front of the camera and I'm so pleased with the outcome.

Check out her website and her Instagram page for more of her work.

Stealing T-Shirts from your boy is the perfect way to mix up your summer wardrobe; well that's what I've been doing for the past few weeks anyway.

I also recently baught this faux-leather jacket which I've been wearing a lot on the cooler days to keep myself warmed up. I know I'll be getting a lot of wear out of this jacket in the coming months and can't wait to layer it up for winter soon.

What do you do when the weather is too hot and you have nothing to wear? Steal your boys clothes... In an attempt to brighten things up for summer a little, this is as bright as I could go. The amazing weather last week made it really hard for me to dress comfortably as I don't really own any 'Summer' clothes, I just tend to layer up less. T-Shirts and shorts are a really easy way to stay cool and comfortable during the heat. Also, band t-shirts and flannels are always a good idea.

Lace Love

For a family event last week, which I would normally wear traditional Asian attire to, I decided to dress the occasion down and wear something easy and comfortable as Asian occasional wear can be very heavy and uncomfortable to wear after a while, which I didn't really want on such a hot Summer's day. Instead, I decided to go with this light and easy lace dress which I picked up from ASOS.

Although I wanted to keep the outfit simple, I really want the jewellery to be glamourous and extravagant. The jewellery set and bangles are from an Asian jewellery store in Upton Park called House Of Fashion Jewellery. I was absolutely in love with the jewellery on the day and can see myself wearing it a lot more for occasions and events.

The shoes are another part of the outfit I was really looking forward to. I've had my eye on these gorgeous clear perpex boots from Public Desire for a while and when I found my dress and had an idea of the jewellery I wanted, I knew I wanted these heels to go with them all. After ordering the boots, I thought they might not look as great as part of the outfit as I had imagined but when I tried everything on, I was so happy with the outcome of it all.

Pending

This jacket is one that I don't get to wear as much as I used to as the weather has been getting better, but on days where it's pouring and pretty chilly, it does make an appearance here and there. These are shots which were taken a few weeks back now so I haven't worn this jacket in a while but wanted to share a transition outfit of sorts into warmer weather. Details are shared below as usual.
